Questions

Frequently asked questions

Are your workshops running now?

Not yet. Our three programs are in planning, and registration isn’t open. Join the interest list and we’ll tell you when one opens.

Where are workshops held?

Workshop format is to be decided (TBD), and locations aren’t set yet.

Do your workshops cost money?

Workshop cost is to be decided (TBD). There’s nothing to pay or register for right now.

Is Mae a real robot I can get?

No. Mae is a made-up character in our comic. She’s not a device you can buy. The “Ask Mae” helper on this website is a demonstration with prewritten answers, not live AI.

What is voice cloning?

Voice cloning is when a computer program copies how a person sounds. Scammers can use a short recording to make a call that sounds like someone you love. That’s why we teach the callback.

Does a family code phrase keep me safe?

It can help as an extra check. But it doesn’t replace calling back on a number you already know.

I think I was scammed. What should I do?

First, it’s not your fault. If you paid, call your bank or the payment company right away. Then report it at ic3.gov and ReportFraud.ftc.gov. If you’re 60 or older, the National Elder Fraud Hotline can help: 1-833-FRAUD-11 (1-833-372-8311). Our guide has more steps.

Can you help me with my scam case or account?

We teach and share information. We can’t investigate scams, recover money or log in to your accounts. Please contact your bank and the agencies listed in our guide.

Will you send me a printed newsletter?

Not right now. The AgeWell Update is email only for now.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email from us. That’s it.
